Plately Inc ("Plately," "we," "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have when you use plately.net and the Plately app (together, the "Service").

• Account information — name, email address, and password when you create an account or request early access.
• Meal photos and nutrition data — photos you submit for analysis, the resulting food and nutrition estimates, and any manual edits or logs you make.
• Profile and goals — optional details like age range, dietary preferences, and goals, used to personalize suggestions.
• Usage and device data — basic analytics such as app version, device type, and feature usage, used to improve the Service.

2. How we use your information

• To analyze your meal photos and provide calories, macros, and insights.
• To personalize suggestions based on your goals and patterns.
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, including improving our recognition models.
• To communicate with you about your account, support requests, and product updates (you can opt out of marketing emails anytime).

3. What we don't do

• We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
• We do not share your meal photos or health data with advertisers.
• We do not use your data for purposes unrelated to providing and improving the Service.

4. Sharing

We share data only with service providers who help us run the Service (such as cloud hosting and email delivery), under strict confidentiality agreements; when required by law; or in connection with a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply to your data.

5. Data security and retention

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We retain your data while your account is active. You can delete individual photos, meals, or your entire account at any time from the app or by emailing us; deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@plately.net — we respond to all requests within 30 days.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Not medical advice

Plately provides general nutrition information for everyday awareness. It is not a medical service, and information in the app should not be treated as medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
